2026 Brand GEO Score Report: How AI-Ready Are 20 Global Giants?
How "AI-ready" is the company that built ChatGPT on its own website? Can Nike outrank Apple? Did a brand from Turkey beat global giants? To find answers, we analyzed 20 of the world's most recognized brands with Scanliq for GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AI visibility. The results are both surprising and instructive.
Methodology: Each site was analyzed using Scanliq's 32-point GEO and AI visibility checklist: HTTPS, AI bot access (GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, bingbot), llms.txt, structured data (Schema.org, JSON-LD), meta tags, sitemap, canonical URL and more. Analyses were run on August 3, 2026. This report is an automated measurement based on each site's publicly visible technical signals (robots.txt, meta tags, structured data, etc.) as of that date; it makes no judgment about the brands' overall quality, products, or reputation and does not constitute an official audit. Scores may change over time.

The Most Striking Finding: OpenAI's Own Site Scored "Weak"
The most ironic result of the analysis: OpenAI's corporate site, openai.com, was placed in the "Weak" category according to Scanliq's analysis, with a score of 45/100 — the very company that built ChatGPT. According to Scanliq's methodology, signals for elements like the title tag, meta description, H1 heading, favicon and structured data could not be detected during these checks. This shows that even a company that is a pioneer in AI can present a different technical profile in terms of these signals — a pattern seen frequently shows up here too.
A Brand From Turkey Beat Global Giants
Turkcell topped the list according to Scanliq's analysis, with a score of 93/100 — achieving a higher score in Scanliq's scoring than Nike, Apple and Microsoft. Passing 29 of 32 checks, Turkcell had an llms.txt file detected, complete structured data signals found, and visibility signals detected across all four AI engines (ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Copilot). This result suggests that, in terms of the technical criteria Scanliq measures, size alone isn't the determining factor.
Same Industry, Massive Gap: Turkcell vs Vodafone
Comparing two telecom brands: Turkcell scored 93 in Scanliq's analysis, while Vodafone scored 49 — a 44-point gap in the same industry. In Vodafone's analysis, robots.txt and some technical signals could not be detected by Scanliq; server response and indexability checks also showed missing signals. This comparison shows that, in terms of the technical signals Scanliq measures, notable differences can exist even between brands in the same industry.
Common Weakness: llms.txt — Only 3 of 20 Brands Have It
Of the 20 brands analyzed, only Turkcell, Trendyol and Vestel had an llms.txt file detected. For the remaining 17 — including large-scale companies like Apple, Microsoft, Netflix and Nike — no llms.txt file was detected at the time of analysis. We explained why this file can matter in our what is llms.txt guide.
A Systemic Problem in Turkish E-commerce Sites
Migros (37), Sahibinden (38), Hepsiburada (42) and Getir (45) — Turkey's most-visited e-commerce and service platforms average just ~40.5/100 in GEO score. Common issues across these sites: missing or broken robots.txt, no llms.txt, incomplete meta tags and weak structured data. Our GEO for e-commerce guide details how to fix these issues.
Text-to-HTML Ratio: A Universal Weakness
Only 1-2 of the 20 brands passed the "Text/HTML Ratio" check. This shows that even the world's largest companies carry excessive code bloat on their pages, keeping meaningful text density low — our content writing for AI guide explains how to fix this.
Category Averages
| Category | Average GEO Score |
|---|---|
| Global tech/brand giants | ~71/100 |
| Turkish brands (overall) | ~56/100 |
| Turkish e-commerce/service platforms | ~40.5/100 |
Conclusion: Correct Implementation Wins, Not Size
This report reveals a clear truth: brand size or budget doesn't guarantee AI visibility. Brands like Turkcell that take the right technical steps can outrank much bigger-budget global giants. Meanwhile, even an industry pioneer like OpenAI can carry basic gaps. As we noted in our GEO vs SEO post, this field is still new and the competitive playing field is open to everyone.
